ABOUT THE BURSAR

Department of Tourism Bursary South Africa  : The Department of Tourism is one of the many departments of the government in South Africa. The department is lead by Derek Hanekom, Minister of Tourism. The aim of the Department of Tourism is to develop and promote tourism, both within South Africa and from other countries to South Africa.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Bursaries will be awarded to students studying within one of the following fields:

  • Communication Science/ Media Studies/ Journalism
  • Economics
  • Human Resource Development
  • International Politics (Honours)
  • Law
  • Public Administration
  • Public Relations Management
  • Tourism Management

The bursary programme is not applicable to The National Department of Tourism employees.

ABOUT THE BURSAR

Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Bursary South Africa – The Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality is located in Limpopo province of South Africa, and was previously known as the “Greater Groblersdal Local Municipality”.
Mr Elias Motsoaledi played a big role in the fight against apartheid and thus the Municipality was named in his honor.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

The bursary programme is open to students who are residents of the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality and intend on study after school. The bursary award will cover the cost of tuition and registration fees.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen,
  • Reside within the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality,
  • Accepted to study at a recognised South African tertiary institution,

City of Matlosana Bursary – The City of Matlosana is situated within the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district, which falls under the North West province of South Africa. Formerly known as the “City Council of Klerksdorp”, the main economic sectors of this city, includes: agriculture, construction, manufacturing ,mining, transport and services.

The Office of the Executive Mayor of City Council Matlosana hereby invites all the students who reside in Matlosana Municipality to apply for bursaries for the 2016 academic year.

ABOUT THE BURSAR

Johannesburg Water Bursary – Johannesburg Water (SOC) Ltd was founded in 2001, owned by the City of Johannesburg. The main purpose is to provide clean and safe water and sanitation for its some 3.8 million residents.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Bursaries will be awarded within the following Water industry-related fields of study:

  • Civil Engineering (BSc)
  • Electrical Engineering (National Diploma)
  • Mechanical Engineering (National Diploma)
  • Communications/ Journalism/ Marketing/ Public Relations (Degree)

The bursary award will cover the following study expenses: tuition fees, accommodation at university residence and a cash allowance. Bursary recipients will also be given the opportunity to undertake paid vacation work.

On completion of their studies, students will be required to undertake employment with Johannesburg Water (SOC) Ltd.

ELIGIBILITY – Johannesburg Water Bursary

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen,
  • Students who are studying or intend on study full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study at a recognised tertiary institution,
  • Strong academic performance,
  • Proven financial need.

*Preference will be given to female students, those with disabilities and those who have been previously disadvantaged.

Department of Arts and Culture Bursary South Africa 2021 –

ABOUT THE BURSAR – Department of Arts and Culture Bursary

Department of Arts and Culture Bursary – The Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) are aimed at ensuring that the arts sector contribute to social cohesion and economic growth of the country.
One of the ways in which the DAC are preserving and expanding the arts, culture and heritage sector in South Africa, is by way of their bursary programme – funding deserving students who wish to pursue studies in heritage related programmes.
Bursaries are awarded to 30 students each year, to the maximum value of R70 000 per student.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

Bursaries will be awarded within the following Heritage Related fields of study:

  • Anthropology
  • Archaeology
  • Archives and Records Management
  • Conservation of the Built Environment
  • Conservation and Preventive Conservation
  • Collections Management (Cultural and Natural)

FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship South Africa 2021 –

 

ABOUT THE BURSAR

FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship – Lauritz “Laurie” Dippenaar co-founded FirstRand Limited, along with GT Ferreira in 1977, a financial service provider organisation in South Africa. A self-made millionaire banker; investor and businessman, Dippenaar is now the former CEO of the FirstRand financial Group and currently serves the organisation in a non-executive capacity. He is also the Chairman of OUTsurance, Momentum and Discovery and is a qualified Chartered Accounted.
Dippenaar has set up a scholarship programme to help students through their tertiary education.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

This bursary programme is for international postgraduate study to a maximum value of R600 000 per annum, for a maximum duration of 2 years.

The bursary recipient will be required to return to South Africa on completion of their studies, for a minimum duration of 5 years.

ELIGIBILITY – FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen,
  • Studying towards a postgraduate degree,
  • Studying outside of South Africa at any internationally recognised university,

* Preference will be given to applicants under 35 years old.
The bursary will be awarded based on the following 4 factors: academic excellence, ability to be a destiny change, leadership qualities and community involvement.
