About the FASSET: The Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET)’s mission is to increase the number of employees entering the finance and accountancy sector; facilitate transformation within the accountancy and finance sector; as well as to grow and expand the skill set required within the sector.

FASSET invites qualifying candidates to apply for the Outstanding Study Debt Assistance Grant. The Outstanding Study Debt Assistance Grant is designed to alleviate the stress of University debt for completed qualifications in the Finance and Accounting sector.

Requirements:

  • Learners must be currently be employed.
  • Learners must have a qualification within the Finance and Accounting sector.
  • Learners with an outstanding loan at NSFAS or higher learning institutions which was used to fund a completed qualification within Finance and Accounting.
  • The settlement amount is limited to R40 000 per learner.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with an annual salary threshold of less than R600 000.00.

 Fields of study: Accounting and Finance

FASSET Bursary Application Requirements 2024/2025

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • In the penultimate (second last) or final year of study
  • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying at a recognised University or the University of Technology in South Africa
  • Accounting degree students: must have achieved a minimum of level 6 for Mathematics in Matric
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements of your chosen University in your selected field of study
  • Proven financial need (family income of between R123 000 and R300 000 per annum)
