Revolution Media Academy (RMA) is a subsidiary of the Revolution Media Group, founded in 2011. The academy’s mission is to provide education in the fields of Music, Media, and IT to previously disadvantaged students while addressing the educational training backlog. RMA is a nationally recognized institution accredited by MICT SETA, offering a range of National Certificates, National Diplomas, FET Certificates, professional master class courses, and various online courses in areas such as Film & Television Productions, Music Performance, Studio Work, Sound Engineering, Video Technology, and Radio Productions.

About the Bursary Program:

RMA awards 10 bursaries or scholarships annually to deserving students who demonstrate strong academic potential and financial need. There are two types of bursaries available:

  1. Full-cost bursaries: These cover all study fees.
  2. Partial bursaries: These cover approximately 50% of tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the RMA bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • South African citizenship
  • A minimum “B” symbol for Matric English and Mathematics
  • Strong academic potential
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Studying or intending to study at the Revolution Media Academy (not applicable for other institutions)
  • Preference will be given to female students and students from rural areas.

How to Apply:

Follow these steps to apply for the RMA bursary:

  1. Download and complete the Revolution Media Academy Bursary Application Form.
  2. Submit clear copies of the required supporting documentation along with your completed application form. The mandatory documents include your ID document, passport-sized photo, Matric results, Matric certificate (if applicable), tertiary academic records (if applicable), an essay about yourself, a letter of recommendation from a parent or guardian (optional), two testimonials, and proof of parents or guardians’ income.

Submit your applications and supporting documents to one of the following RMA offices:

Closing Date:

The closing date for bursary applications is 30 October. Please note that applications for 2024-2025 will open in August. Ensure that you submit your application before the closing date to be considered.
